Dreamtime 2017 Australian industry information

Join us at Dreamtime 2017, Tourism Australia’s signature incentive showcase for qualified international incentive agents and media. Dreamtime 2017 will be held in Brisbane from the 3 to 6 December and gives Australian industry the opportunity to meet and do business with incentive buyers from around the world.

The last Dreamtime event, held in Adelaide in 2015, saw 69 international incentive buyers and 21 media meet with 95 Australian industry and resulted in over 80 business leads for Australia. In the post-event survey, 100 per cent of Australian industry who attended Dreamtime 2015 indicated they were ‘satisfied’ or ‘extremely satisfied’ with the event. BEA Advance Program

Applications for Tourism Australia’s Advance Program are opening soon. The program offers the Australian business events industry the opportunity to leverage TA’s international marketing expertise in order to grow the number of delegates to confirmed events taking place in Australia, and the number of international business events secured for Australia. The Advance Program prospectus will be launched in April, with applications closing on 7 July 2017. For more information on the Advance Program and how to apply, contact us today.

IMEX America

Interested in joining Tourism Australia on the Australia stand at the USA’s largest meetings industry trade show? The IMEX America prospectus is now available. This global trade show for the incentive travel, meetings and events industry attracts thousands of professionals from the USA and around the world. Last year TA was joined on the Australia stand by a 20-strong delegation of Australia’s business events industry and more than 50 business leads were generated for Australia as a result. Chinese accolades for Australia

It’s been a good start to 2017, with Tourism Australia already winning two business events awards in China; the China BT MICE Miracle Workers Award for the Best MICE Destination of the year 2016 and the TTG China Travel Award for Best Overseas NTO in China Promoting BT-MICE. This is the fifth consecutive year that TA has won these awards ahead of competition from destinations around the world, demonstrating Australia’s appeal to this important market.

BEA presents in the NT

Business Events Australia provided an update on its activities at the Northern Territory Convention Bureau’s Central Australia Business Events Industry Update in Alice Springs and its Top End Business Events Industry Update in Darwin, both held in March. More than 100 Northern Territory industry representatives attended the updates, with BEA presenting information on its strategy, markets of focus, and recent activity.

In March, Business Events Australia attended Canberra Convention Bureau’s Top Secret 2017 educational, delivered a presentation on its marketing strategy to students at University of Technology Sydney and participated in the International Women’s Day panel hosted by the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) in Sydney. Welcome to the team…

Glen Davis, Tourism Australia’s newly appointed Business Events Specialist for the Americas. Glen will join the Business Events Australia team from Tourism Australia’s Corporate Affairs, Government and Industry team, where he is responsible for connecting industry to Tourism Australia’s tools, resources and insights on key international markets. Glen will be based in Tourism Australia’s Los Angeles office from June 2017 and will predominantly be focusing on the incentive sector.
