Australia continues to secure business
Despite the ongoing challenges of the global pandemic, Australia’s business events industry has continued to convert future business for Australia. Since the global COVID-19 pandemic started in January 2020, the Business Events Bid Fund Program has supported 26 new event wins worth approximately A$137 million, highlighting that Australia remains a highly desirable business events destination. This sentiment is supported by the Business Events Consumer Demand Project, which indicated 8 in 10 association decision-makers rate Australia as an appealing destination with excellent business events facilities, clean cities, good infrastructure, and an appealing climate. Recent Business Events Bid Fund Program wins include the 49th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves 2023 (IRMMW-THz 2024) and the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress in 2024, both of which will be held in Perth.
