Boosting Business Events Bid Fund Program applications now open

Following the launch in March 2018 by The Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, The Hon Steven Ciobo MP, applications are now open for the new Boosting Business Events Bid Fund Program (BFP).  Managed by Business Events Australia (BEA), the BFP will give Australia a further competitive advantage to secure more high-value international business events.  Applications can be made for international incentive, exhibition and association business events where a decision will be made by 30 June 2021, with funds available from 1 July 2018.

New York Client Event

Business Events Australia hosted an exclusive client event in New York City on April 26 with The Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, The Hon Steven Ciobo MP in attendance. Partnering with Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia (UWEA), Australia's unique destinations, people and produce was brought to life through sensory experiences and an exceptional menu matched to Australian wines. The specific business events offering of five wineries was showcased at the event, which demonstrated Australia’s creative event delivery capabilities to business events planners, decision makers and influential US media.

NZ Whitsundays educational

Seven incentive planners and a journalist from New Zealand experienced first-hand why there’s nothing like Australia for business events on their recent educational trip to The Whitsundays.  In partnership with Hamilton Island and Air New Zealand, Business Events Australia hosted a three-day program that showcased the region’s incentive offerings, delivering 100% buyer satisfaction and continuing to raise awareness of our business events products and experiences to the New Zealand market.

 
 
 
 

Accolades for China

Australia continues to rate highly as a business events (MICE) destination for the Chinese incentive market, as demonstrated by two new awards. For the sixth consecutive time, Tourism Australia has won both the TTG China 2018 Travel Award for Best Overseas National Tourism Organisation in China promoting business events, and the China BT MICE Miracle Workers Award for the best business events destination of the year.

Tourism Australia’s Advance Program offers the opportunity for Australian industry to leverage Tourism Australia’s international marketing expertise and grow the number of international delegates to confirmed business events taking place in Australia.
