Register now for the 2017 Greater China Showcase Registrations are now open for the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase, to be held from the 19 to 21 April 2017 in Chengdu, China. The Showcase provides Australian industry with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with qualified agents and corporate buyers as well as learn key insights about the Greater China market. In 2016, more than 80 business leads were generated at the Showcase with 100 per cent of sellers indicating they were satisfied to extremely satisfied with the event. |

More than 80 Australian sellers have joined Tourism Australia activity at international business events trade shows in 2016, including Association World Congress, IMEX Frankfurt, IMEX America, PAICE and IBTM World, leading to over 140 business leads being generated for Australia. In addition, feedback from industry states that overall satisfaction for Tourism Australia’s business events trade show activity reached 96 per cent. Find out more. | ||
Chinese accolades for Australia | ||
Tourism Australia picked up two more business events awards in China in November, ‘Best Long Haul Destination for Incentive Travel’ at the Meeting China Awards and ‘Best Destination for promoting BT-MICE in China’ at the Best Travel Awards. These new awards brings the total to seven in 2016, the largest number of business events awards won by Tourism Australia in a year. |
North American educational |
Seven qualified buyers and two media from North America participated in a Business Events Australia educational in November, held in partnership with Ovation Australia, One&Only Hotels and Resorts and Virgin Australia. The educational, which visited the Whitsundays, Wolgan Valley and Sydney, has already generated seven business leads for Australia, worth AUD2 million. |

A strong Australian contingent, including Business Events Australia, attended the 55th International Congress Convention Association (ICCA) Congress 2016 in Kuching, Malaysia. The Congress, which provides educational and networking opportunities for the international association meetings industry, saw several Australians leading and joining sessions. EEAA Young Stars Program |
Tourism Australia’s Executive General Manager Events, Penny Lion, facilitated the Young Stars Development Session at the EEAA 2016 Conference in November. Tourism Australia is a platinum partner of the EEAA Young Star Program, which mentors and develops young leaders in the exhibition and events industry. |
