IMEX America delivers results

In October, a 23-strong delegation of Australia’s business events industry joined Tourism Australia's Business Events Australia team on the Australia stand at IMEX America, the USA’s largest meetings industry trade show, to highlight Australia’s diverse business events offering.

More than 70 business leads were generated for Australia at IMEX America, demonstrating the tangible business outcomes of Australian industry attending international trade shows with Business Events Australia.

 NOVEMBER NEWS 

 

Dreamtime 2017

In less than a month, 97 international business events planners and 20 trade media will descend on Brisbane for Dreamtime 2017. Held from 3 to 6 December, Dreamtime is Tourism Australia’s signature incentive showcase that provides Australian industry with the opportunity to meet face to face with international incentive planners and do business. In 2015, Dreamtime delivered 168 business leads for Australia worth AUD120.5 million.

BEA to inspire NZ planners at PAICE

On 14 November, 48 Australian business events industry will join Business Events Australia in the Australia Precinct at the Pacific Area Incentives & Conferences Expo (PAICE). Before the official program starts, the Business Events Australia team will provide Australian industry with the first opportunity of the day to meet with key New Zealand business events planners during the invitation-only networking event, ‘Brain Food Breakfast’. 

IBTM World 2017

From 28 to 30 November 2017, seven of Australia’s business events industry will be joining Business Events Australia on the Australia stand at IBTM World, a key international business events trade show held in Barcelona, Spain. During the show, Australian industry will have the opportunity to meet and network with international business events planners and key decision makers from the conference, convention and corporate events industries.

Accolades for Australia

Tourism Australia continues to be recognised internationally for its work in the business events sector - winning three awards this month. In the USA, Tourism Australia was acknowledged by Smart Meetings with a Platinum Choice Award for exceptional service to meeting planners. In China, Tourism Australia was awarded the Best Outbound Destination Marketer of the Year by BOAO Direct Selling Summit 2017 and Best MICE Destination of the Year by DM Today, raising Tourism Australia’s 2017 tally of awards for the Chinese business events market to six.

 
 
 

 UPDATES FOR INDUSTRY 

 

 BEA out and about

Throughout October, the Business Events Australia team continued to raise awareness of Australia’s excellent business events offering at industry events including the Shangri-La Roadshow in Chicago, St Louis and Minneapolis, and the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Chicago meeting. A Business Events Australia training seminar was also held in Guangzhou in China, where nine of Australia’s convention bureaux had the opportunity to meet with and present to Chinese incentive agents.

IMEX Frankfurt 2018

IMEX Frankfurt, held from 15 to 17 May 2018, is one of the world’s biggest business events trade shows, attracting international business events planners and key decision makers from around the world.
