Understand the ATO’s working from home tax changes

With many people now embracing a flexible work culture, working from home at least some of the time has become normal.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has recently made some changes to how you calculate tax deductions if you work from home, including changes to the way you calculate home based expenses.

As a business owner, it’s vital to keep all the necessary records for tax purposes – and it’s equally important your employees do the same.

The ATO has provided some helpful guidance here on the changes so you can keep up-to-date. You can also learn more about these changes in the article published by the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) here. And remember, seek professional advice if needed.
