CEO Business Breakfast - what's happening in Cockburn

Join us for a free business breakfast with new CEO Tony Brun, to hear about his vision and plans for the future of the City.
Mr Brun joined the City in February, coming from a role as Head of Planning at Australia Pacific Airports Melbourne where he oversaw the planning functions, in addition to a $15 billion program that included key precinct and terminal developments. He has previous experience in the local government sector as a former Chief Executive at the City of Greater Geraldton, and also previously held the role of Chief Strategy Officer at Perth Airport.

Business Grants update

The inaugural round of the Cockburn Grants to Support Local Economic Development closed on March 26th. We received an overwhelming response, and assessments and allocation of funds are still being finalised. The quality and number of applications were very high.
I have spoken to many businesses about the next round of grants, which were intended to open in late April, however as the initial response has been so immense, there will not be another round this financial year.
Applications will reopen next financial year and you will be informed when this occurs via the Business eNewsletter.

FREE tailored business support

The City of Cockburn has partnered with Business Foundations to provide three hours of FREE tailored one-on-one support to businesses to identify their key risks and opportunities to survive into the future.
The sessions can include: Financial analysis Organisational design and workforce planning Business planning and design Supply chain diversification and management Tactical sales and marketing General support for any operational business issues. Is my business eligible?
To be eligible, you must own a business based in Cockburn AND be a small business as defined by the ABS (fewer than 20 employees) and the ATO (annual revenue less than $2 million). Register now by emailing business@cockburn.wa.gov.au with your business details.

Improving collaboration and decision making across industrial ecosystems: Industrial Symbiosis explained

Join us for another Western Trade Coast Industry Series event.
Regional Development Australia Perth, Kwinana Industries Council (KIC), Henderson Alliance, Murdoch University and Dassault Systemes invite you to join us to learn more about industrial symbiosis modelling and how it can be applied to the challenges of emissions monitoring & reduction, and local content tracking.
In an interactive session, we will outline the new model of Industrial Symbiosis, under development by the KIC, which can bring together strategic planning, tactical operational data and physics-based simulations to improve collaboration and decision making across industrial ecosystems.

Online workshop: Introduction to Supply Chain Management

This highly practical session will provide you with a range of tips to help get the most from your supply chain with the limited resources.
This session provides an introduction to the key elements of an end-to-end supply chain, the need to balance demand with supply, and for this to be fully integrated into all of your business activities. This may include procurement/supplier activities, transportation, warehousing, inventory management and customer service.
