About to reopen? You must complete a Covid-19 Safety Plan Late yesterday afternoon the State government released guidelines and COVID-19 Safety Plan templates.
Those businesses who were unable to open and operate due to Government regulations, and are about to reopen, will need to: - Comply with conditions outlined in the COVID Safety Guidelines — please read these before completing your plan
- Complete a COVID Safety Plan, from one of the following templates:
- Food Businesses (cafes, restaurants, bars, etc), - Sport and recreation (gyms, yoga, dance, pilates, health clubs, swimming pools, etc), or - General - for all other businesses. - Display a COVID Safety Plan Certificate in a visible location on the premises (this is included in the plan)
- Maintain a strict limit of a minimum of 4 square metres per person
- Ensure a maximum of 20 people per venue (excluding staff)
- Maintain hygiene and frequent cleaning
- Maintain attendance records of patrons for contact tracing
- Carefully manage waiting areas to ensure social distancing.
Businesses that were restricted (under the Emergency Management Act) are required to complete these before reopening on Monday. Premises that were not forced to close and have not changed their business format may choose to voluntarily complete the COVID-19 Safety Plan and display the certificate.
The plans are not too onerous and are designed to ensure the health and wellbeing of staff and patrons of these businesses.
COVID Safety Plans are an important part of ensuring that re-opening businesses does not increase the risk of spreading COVID-19. Businesses must ensure their COVID Safety Plan is available for inspection by authorised officers. Failure to complete a COVID Safety Plan may mean your business is putting the community at risk.
