Cockburn Global 23 - 30 second

Cockburn Global: the conference of choice!

We are very proud to see Cockburn Global evolve from the inaugural Indonesian Digitial Exchange Forum in 2022 to the conference of choice for business owners wanting to explore the potential for bi-lateral trade with our Southern Asian neighbours.

This year, we were thrilled to welcome distinguished guests, speakers and business representatives from Indonesia, Viet Nam and Singapore. With over 110 participants on the day, the room had a buzz of conversation.

Discussing topics from sustainability to blue economy innovation and digitisation, we were proud to bring together:

  • Six keynote speakers
  • 10 country specialists in breakout rooms
  • Five expert panellists.
Guests told us they enjoyed the 'great mix of presentations with various global industry experts and time to network'.

Of the business owners who attended and gave feedback, 71 per cent described themselves as 'curious about exporting'. This event was a great stepping stone for them to build stronger international relationships in the Southeast Asian region.

Cockburn Global 2024 is already in the planning stage! Don't miss next year's event on Wednesday, 16 October 2024.

New food compliance laws start 8 December 2023

The 8 December 2023 is nearly here, and if you are a food business, this may be when you need to implement the new National Food Safety Standard, 3.2.2A - Food Safety Management Tools.

The standard introduces three food safety management tools for businesses that handle unpackaged, potentially hazards, ready-to-eat foods. The three tools include:
  1. Requirement to complete food handler training or demonstrate skills and knowledge in safe food handling practices.
  2. Requirement to appoint a qualified food safety supervisor and
  3. Requirement to show that your food is safe.
Please contact our Environmental Health Officers on 08 9411 3444 if you require further information, click on the button below for further food safety management tools.

$650 electricity credit for small businesses on embedded networks

Are you a small business in a shopping centre, airport or industrial park? If so, you may be eligible to apply for the $650 Small Business Energy Bill Credit.

To provide relief on energy bills, the Cook Government, in collaboration with the Albanese Government, has committed to providing financial relief to businesses and charities. As part of this initiative, they are offering a $650 credit to small business owners and charities using an embedded network for their electricity supply. Embedded networks encompass small businesses in shopping centres, airports, industrial parks, and those with sub-meters controlled by landlords.

If you are not part of an embedded network, chances are you've automatically received your first instalment of the electricity credit through providers like Synergy and Western Power.

Am I eligible for the credit?

To be eligible, your business or charity must consume less than 50-megawatt hours of electricity per year and have been receiving electricity through an embedded network on or before May 9, 2023.

This credit, when combined with previous assistance, will total $3,650 in electricity support for eligible small businesses.

The application deadline is Thursday 30 November 2023, and you can apply online by clicking the button below.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to reduce electricity costs and boost your bottom line.
