#ShopLocalCockburn to win!!

Local Businesses within the City of Cockburn have had a tough time in 2020, so it’s time to #ShopLocalCockburn and help our business community to recover!

We are encouraging our community to support our local businesses in October and beyond with our first ever #ShopLocalCockburn Campaign – which will reward our residents by spending their money on local goods and services!
Residents who spend a minimum of $10 per transaction at three local businesses during the campaign (1 October - 15 November) go in the draw to win weekly prizes and one of two prize packs valued at over $1000.

We are interested in businesses who would like to be a part of this campaign by telling their story and featuring in our social media campaign. If you want to be involved email business@cockburn.wa.gov.au with your contact details and the Business Engagement Officer will be in touch.

Businesses will be sent a media kit with social media tiles and posters to use throughout the campaign so keep an eye on the next eNews for more info!

Your business can join the group of 20 local food retailers and restaurants who have opted into this free trial, and will recieve education/training, food waste bins and compostable bin liners as part of the City’s trial pack.

Is your business cyber secure?

Register for a FREE Cyber Check.Me assessment and online consultation to find out!

What is a Cyber Check.me assessment?
The ‘Cyber Check.Me’ initiative will provide your businesses with a free tailored cyber security assessment, which will then give you the tools and techniques to better protect your business from cyber security threats. These checks will occur in September 2020.

Why is cyber security important?
Cyber-crime impacts approximately one-third of small businesses, who are the subject to attempted or actual breach of their systems, accounts, personal information or sensitive business information.

To register email Joanna.Ong@melville.wa.gov.au with your contact details.

The program is funded by the South West Group, a regional organisation of six Local Governments covering South West Metropolitan Perth, and delivered by AustCyber - The Australian Cyber Security Growth Network Ltd who will work with Edith Cowan University on the assessments.
