The key is the recent "road diet," which narrowed Government Street from four lanes to three. The road diet hasn't come without controversy, but it has helped transform the area into a bustling hive of businesses, bikes and bipeds. After an August without a named tropical storm, the Atlantic basin is back in business. Danielle formed this morning and is predicted to become the first hurricane of the year.
