🐕 The family of Australian dogs have gained worldwide acclaim, but this week, some are attacking the children's show for undermining fatherhood. "Nothing could be further from the truth," Steve Pierce writes.
"In a world where positive examples of fatherhood can be hard to come by, the show offers a wholesome and inspiring portrayal of a father who leads with love, wisdom and care," he writes.

Senate Debate: Curtis v. Gleich
Rep. John Curtis fended off a barrage of attacks from his literal, and figurative, left and right during Thursday night’s contentious debate over who should replace Sen. Mitt Romney.
Curtis mostly ignored criticisms coming from Democratic candidate Caroline Gleich, who framed the 3rd District congressman as too conservative, and Independent American candidate Carlton Bowen, who berated Curtis for not being “pro-Trump” enough.
🗳️ Here are some highlights from each of the three candidates:
Republican candidate Rep. John Curtis
Curtis criticized party-line politics and positioned himself as a problem solver.
He highlighted his successful legislative record, including the passage of 20 bills and his role in shaping significant environmental policies.
On his past as a Democrat, he explained it was a strategic choice and reassured voters of his consistent promotion of Republican values since then.
Democratic candidate Caroline Gleich
Gleich emphasized the urgent need to address climate issues, leveraging her background as an environmental activist.
She argued for younger, more forward-thinking Senate representation, focusing on long-term consequences of current legislative decisions.
Gleich criticized Curtis for not addressing critical climate issues with enough urgency.
Independent American candidate Carlton Bowen
Bowen underscored his commitment to constitutional limits on government and positioned himself against what he calls "Romney 2.0."
He repeatedly attacked Curtis for his past Democratic registration and portrayed himself as the true conservative alternative, emphasizing his unwavering Republican principles.
Bowen differentiated himself by championing a strong pro-Trump stance, making this a cornerstone of his campaign. (Curtis said his support for Trump aligns only when it reflects "Utah values", and Gleich did not express support for the former president.)
The planned BYU Medical School has its founding dean. His name is Dr. Mark Ott, and his resume is impressive.
Here's what we know about Dr. Mark Ott:
He's a surgeon with Intermountain Health.
His medical internship and residency in general surgery was completed at Johns Hopkins.
During that time, he was also a research and clinical fellow specializing in surgical oncology.
He has held academic and affiliate appointments at Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical School, Stanford School of Medicine and the University of Utah School of Medicine.
What BYU President Shane Reese said about him:
“Dr. Ott is a widely respected doctor, surgeon and leader who has worked and studied at the most highly regarded healthcare institutions in the world."
"More importantly, Dr. Ott has a deep commitment to BYU’s spiritual mission and has lived a life of service and quiet devotion to the true master healer, Jesus Christ.”
What Dr. Mark Ott said about his appointment:
“It’s a humbling and exciting honor to join Brigham Young University as the inaugural dean of its new medical school."
“BYU’s medical school will provide students with a topflight medical education as well as an enduring appreciation that their talents and training are gifts from God for the benefit of the world.”
