Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here's a look at some of our top headlines.
Bywater development: Developers are planning a five-story hotel with a rooftop bar and pool right next to the Rusty Rainbow bridge in the Bywater. Neighbors, however, say the development is too large and that the city's approval process has left much to be desired. Stephanie Riegel has the details.
Carts in Kenner: The Kenner City Council is allowing golf carts on city streets posted at 35 mph or less. The ordinance passed despite safety concerns, and you might be surprised at some of the streets that fit the bill. Lara Nicholson has the story.
Summer in the city: Heat waves have worsened over the last 60 years, and New Orleans is topping the list of major U.S. cities sweating it out, with an average heat wave last year that was four and a half days longer than the average heat wave of 1961. Josie Abugov has this report on how the city stacks up.
We've got plenty more news, entertainment and sports from The Times-Picayune here. Thanks for reading. Chad |
