Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Comedian Ariel Elias

Stand-up comedian Ariel Elias spectacularly shut down a heckler while performing at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.

Elias sparred with a woman in the audience over the 2020 election after she demanded to know who the comedian voted for.

“Did I vote for Donald Trump? What do you think?” Elias said.

“No,” said the woman.

Elias joked that it didn’t matter anyway, because she lived and voted in New York, a state that went overwhelmingly for Joe Biden. “I vote in New York, my vote doesn’t matter there.”

The woman later interjected again to say that she could tell Elias voted for Biden because of her jokes.

“Alright. I can tell by the fact that you’re still talking when nobody wants you to that you voted for Trump,” Elias shot back as the audience laughed and hollered.

As Elias was getting back into her jokes, the heckler's husband hurled a beer can at the stage, which flew past her head and slammed into the wall behind her.

Elias picked up the beer can and chugged the remainder of the contents, to the cheers of the audience.

The incredible reaction earned Elias air time on CNN. She joined Kate Bolduan on Monday to discuss the performance, explaining that she knew she just had to "chug this" once she realized there was still beer in the can. She also recommended therapy for the heckler. Legend.

MEDIA LOSER:
Fox News Host Rachel Campos-Duffy

Rachel Campos-Duffy and her fellow Fox & Friends Weekend hosts defended Kanye West — whose unlikely support for Donald Trump has made him a bonafide celebrity on Fox News — in an early Sunday morning segment.

The discussion was sparked by West's suspension from Instagram, which occurred after he shared anti-Semitic posts.

In the posts, West suggested rapper Diddy was controlled by Jewish people.

While two co-hosts — Will Cain and Pete Hegseth — said they did not see the posts, they defended West anyway.

Campos-Duffy, however, did see the Instagram post. Even after describing it, she said it was “totalitarian” for Instagram to suspend him over it.

“There is no question that Kanye or Ye was going to have to be taken down after what happened in the Tucker Carlson interview,” Campos-Duffy said. “They had to cut him down.”

The hosts had apparently not seen tweets West shared after Instagram’s suspension, in which he dropped a shocking threat against Jewish people, as they later returned to the topic with a much different take.

Well, at least the majority did.

While Cain called the comments “condemnable,” and Hegseth "unfortunate,"Campos-Duffy didn’t condemn the tweets, but said “The question is should he be removed from Instagram and who gets to decide that?”
