MEDIA WINNER: CNN's Shimon Prokupecz CNN's Shimon Prokupecz landed quite the promotion following a major year for the Emmy-winning reporter. After an impressive year covering crime and justice for the network, CNN announced Monday that Prokupecz will be their Senior Crime and Justice Correspondent, effective immediately. Prokupecz has been integral to a number of big stories, including the FBI raid on Roger Stone’s home in 2019, which earned Prokupecz and his team an Emmy award. He has reported on the deadly mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub, the George Floyd protests, and the Mueller investigation. Prokupecz was also on the ground for the New York City subway shooting, the Buffalo supermarket shooting, and the school shooting in Oxford, Michigan. Perhaps most notable was Prokupecz's recent coverage of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. He broke news throughout his coverage, including that the entire police force for the Uvalde school district was suspended. Prokupecz landed multiple exclusives, including one with Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, and boldly confronted law enforcement officials while on the ground. Prokupecz actually confronted Uvalde Independent School District Police Chief Pedro Arredondo outside his office after he failed to respond to interview requests. Congratulations on the well-deserved promotion. |
