MEDIA WINNER: MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle and Fox News' Sean Hannity MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle and Fox News' Sean Hannity both deserve praise for their respective intervews with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). Both hosts grilled Boebert over her refusal to back Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for speaker of the House. On Thursday, McCarthy lost his eighth bid for speaker, as he has continuously failed to get the required 218 votes thanks to opposition from 20 House Republicans, including Boebert. Hannity conducted a contentious interview with Boebert on Wednesday's edition of his show, during which he asked, "Isn't it time for you to pack it in and your side to pack it in considering he has over 200 and you have 20?" The question prompted a tense back and forth, with Boebert confirming she would not withdraw her bid and support McCarthy. While Rule's interview with the representative was less combative, the MSNBC host asked Boebert why she was not using the same strategy as her GOP colleague Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (GA). "Take the win, get practical, get yourself on a bunch of committees, and actually do something to set policy?" Ruhle asked pointedly. |
