Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Fox News' Greg Gutfeld

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld continues to score in the ratings with his late-night show, and on Friday landed his largest audience since its launch.

The Gutfeld! host came in just behind Tucker Carlson in the key 25-54 age demographic, earning a notable 404,000 demo viewers at his 11 p.m. ET time slot. He fell just behind Carlson’s 419,000 demo viewers at 8 p.m. — which led all of cable news.

His impressive numbers helped Fox News average 347,000 demo viewers across prime time on Friday night, which beat CNN and MSNBC combined.

Gutfeld may have fallen behind his fellow Fox News prime time hosts in total viewers on Friday, but he still easily beat his time slot competitors on other networks.

While Gutfeld raked in 2.6 million viewers on Friday, 683,000 tuned into MSNBC's The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle, and CNN Tonight had a total of 336,000 viewers.

Friday’s show also marked Gutfeld!‘s highest telecast since its launch in April of 2021 with 2.6 million total viewers.

Gutfeld easily surpassed his time slot competitors in the demo as well. CNN Tonight landed 80,000 demo viewers and The 11th Hour landed 104,000, while Gutfeld! earned 404,000.

Fox News' The Five, where Gutfeld sits as a co-host, also saw impressive numbers on Friday.

The Five landed a total of roughly 3.4 total viewers on Friday night, also seeing 337,000 demo viewers. CNN's The Situation Room, on the other hand landed 637,000 viewers total and 139,000 in the demo.

Props to Gutfeld for impressive ratings on both of his shows -- and congrats on beating a personal record!

MEDIA LOSER:
Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk has spent Election Day fueling baseless voting fraud conspiracy theories on Twitter.

“A poll worker in all-important Maricopa County tells Election Day voters the machines are broken," Kirk tweeted on Tuesday alongside a video of an election worker explaining that the polling station’s tabulator was not working.

The location's faulty tabulator means voters need to leave their ballots in a box to be manually counted instead of scanning their own ballots. Voting in Maricopa County has not been affected at all, as only the counting has been impacted, making Kirk's tweet a deceitful attempt at fueling baseless theories of fraud amid the midterm elections.

Kirk later tweeted claims that Democrats were trying to rig the election with long lines and told his radio show audience not to use the secure ballot box.

Kari Lake, theGOP nominee for governor of Arizona, seized on the opportunity to spread misinformation, retweeting Kirk and writing, “I am getting flooded with calls and text messages from people who are having trouble voting all over Maricopa County.”

Trump also got in the action, claiming on Truth Social that voting machines in Arizona "are not properly working in predominantly Republican/Conservative areas."

Responding to the claims, the Election Integrity Partnership claimed Kirk's tweet directly "fueled others who allege that these machine failures are deliberate.”

Sowing baseless doubts about the election (on Election Day no less) is incredibly irresponsible stuff from Kirk. He's already sparked conspiracy theories and is actively weakening the nation's confidence in democratic institutions.
