Media Winners & Losers

MEDIA WINNER:
Evan Lambert

NewsNation correspondent Evan Lambert, who was forced out of a press conference, brought to the ground by police, and arrested last week, issued a persuasive and coherent public statement on the incident.

Lambert was doing a live shot from a recent presser about the train derailment outside of East Palestine when authorities demanded he end his broadcast. Lambert, who described the incident as "traumatic," was then taken out of the gym and forced to the ground by police. Police have since dropped all charges against him.

“It is by design that reporters aren’t meant to become the story," Lambert wrote in a Wednesday statement, breaking his silence. "In my case, I truly did not choose this, and anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I do not want nor relish in any of this extra attention."

The reporter went on to hail law enforcement officers who "do their jobs each day with integrity, civil rights, justice, and safety at the core of their mission."

He vowed to continue his reporting on the train derailment "without fear or favor in service of the public," in order to shine "further attention on the people of East Palestine."

Lambert shared a potent statement on his trauma, ensuring the incident hasn't deterred him while avoiding a political tone.

MEDIA LOSER:
Federico Quadrani

Federico Quadrani, a top producer for CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, is no longer with the network after an investigation into an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate, according to multiple reports.

The New York Post first reported the news, and Fox News Digital later confirmed the firing.

According to Fox's report, an insider at CNN said there were complaints about a relationship betweenQuadrani, who joined CNN in 2013 and is credited as the executive producer of The Lead, and a staffer.

Reports about Quadrani come only a year after former CNN president Jeff Zucker was ousted after failing to disclose a relationship with another executive at the company.

Evidence of Quadrani's affair was reportedly brought to Jake Tapper just as the producer was going through the process of an internal investigation with HR.

“Jake was made aware of it and acted quickly. Someone discovered something accidentally, and brought it to Tapper. He delivered it to [human resources], and they were terminated,” a source told the Post.

CNN declined to comment on the matter when Mediaite reached out on the reported situation.

While the alleged affair is believed to be consensual, it apparently lost both Quadrani and his staffer their jobs -- and burdened CNN amid an already tumultuous time at the network.
