Kara Swisher put Chris Cuomo in the hot seat in an interview featured on the first episode of her new podcast.

Right off the bat, Swisher asked Cuomo to address the “problematic” aspect of his lighthearted interviews with his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), during the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cuomo defended the interviews he conducted with his brother throughout the discussion, dismissing critics who argued they represented a conflict of interest.

Swisher then moved on to the more prominent Cuomo controversy, and asked about the sexual harassment allegations that ultimately cost Andrew Cuomo his job.

Pointing to Cuomo's own role in the scandal, Swisher also noted how the former CNN host got wrapped up in the scandal by partaking in strategy sessions and advising the governor on how to respond to the allegations.

Cuomo pushed back, asking, "What’s the difference between helping him personally and strategically?"

"Oh, Chris, come on. I hope you’re okay. I would not have given him any advice, especially media advice," Swisher pushed back. "I wouldn’t have helped him with anything, practically anything."

Swisher pointed to the "conflict of interest," highlighting how the interviews made Andrew Cuomo even more of a national figure.

Cuomo argued that he wasn't covering the allegations, prompting Swisher to note he covers "the country." 

Props to Swisher for persistently pushing Cuomo on the tough topics. 

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle and her guests on The 11th Hour were in fits of laughter as they mocked Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC) with the implication that he is gay during an off-the-rails segment about abortion policy in the United States.

Ruhle’s panel guests on Friday's show included CBS Sunday Morning‘s Nancy Giles, CNBC’s Ron Insana, MSNBC columnist Liz Plank, and comic and podcaster Judy Gold.

Yes, somehow Ruhle, Plank (a self-proclaimed feminist who has often covered homophobia) and the rest of the MSNBC panel thought making gay jokes on air was just hilarious.

It's apparently fine — because Graham is a Republican.

Toward the end of the show, Ruhle brought up Graham and the abortion legislation he put forward, which has been a significant news story all week. Just mentioning his name elicited groans from the panel.

“And, the fact that he is telling women what to do with their bodies,” Gold said at one point. She paused a second before Giles nodded and said, “Go for it.”

“He’s never seen a vagina! He’s never seen a naked woman!” Gold blurted, as the whole panel laughed it up, including Ruhle. “And he is telling me?”

The implication Gold was using to crack up the panel — one that’s made pretty often on the Democrat side — is to suggest Graham is gay, apparently as an insult.

Amid the crosstalk, Ruhle added her own wink and nudge, saying, “We don’t know that for sure. We do not know that for sure.”

“It’s probably true, it’s probably true," Plank added, insisting someone needed to "find out!”

Making fun of someone's sexuality is a pretty lame thing to do on your show, Ruhle, Republican or not.
