MEDIA WINNER: Jake Tapper
Jake Tapper condemned former President Donald Trump forcontinuously "engaging and winking and nodding" to QAnon conspiracy theorists in a worthy segment on Monday.
QAnon holds that Trump was elected in 2016 to help uncover and stop a massive hidden pedophile ring run by wealthy elites and liberals. It is a fringe theory, albeit one with real consequences.
Last year, a California man and QAnon adherent killed his two children because he believed they were "monsters" with “serpent DNA” given to them by their mother. Trump, in recent weeks, has seemed to embrace the theory. Tapper opened his show on Monday by pointing to Trump’s rally on Saturday in Ohio. “There were many bizarre moments, including what appears to be echoes of the QAnon conspiracy theory, propaganda that Trump has shared in recent weeks.” he said.
Tapper later welcomed Sara Sidner, who noted the nods Trump has given to QAnon followers. Sidner also shared that the FBI expects more violence as QAnon grows.
“Insane,” Tapper concluded of Trump's pandering to the community despite clear dangers. The segment comes after Tapper hosted an alarming CNN special report on the January 6th investigation on Sunday, during which the anchor and Washington correspondent conducted interviews with key figures including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rusty Bowers. |
