Caitlin Clark topples Pete Maravich's NCAA career points record

For 54 seasons, LSU guard "Pistol" Pete Maravich's record 3,667 NCAA career points stood unbeaten. The shot that finally upended that record was a free throw by Iowa Hawkeyes guard Caitlin Clark.

"I don't want that to be the reason people remember me," Clark said. "I hope people remember me for the way I play with a smile on my face, my competitive fire."


After a series of children's deaths, the state created an ombudsman position to oversee the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. 

After five months as ombudsman, Baton Rouge's Kathleen Stewart Richey is calling for more leeway to investigate complaints.
