| ADVERTISEMENT CALIK DENIM BOOSTS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN!
Calik Denim has a longstanding partnership with Parsons School of Design, so it was no surprise to take their cooperation one step further with the new semester of Denim Class. As part of Calik’s vision to nurture the next generation of denim professionals, the inaugural course ‘Fashion Materiality' powered by Calik Denim, investigates denim through the lens of design and construction as well as its rich history and influence in the fashion industry as well giving students the opportunity to learn about denim design and wash development. As part of the final project of this new semester, all the students designed their own collection. Top five designs chosen by jury were invited to submit their designs at the exhibitions Calik participated. Then the designers will have a chance to intern at Calik Denim for the summer. First term of this Fashion Materiality course started in 2017 and completed the second term in 2018, gave 27 students graduated so far. Calik Denim and Parsons School of Design’s partnership will continue in the coming years.
