Library Journal

For our April 2021 Genre Spotlight feature, Library Journal will be previewing upcoming graphic novel titles, with a focus on notable debuts, series launches, and standalones scheduled to be released between April 2021 and December 2021.

This article will also explore the current state of the genre. Among the issues to be covered:

  1. Given the increased popularity of superheroes thanks to the Disney films and TV shows, how would you say streaming has affected the graphic novels industry as a whole?
  2. Has COVID-19 increased the acceptance of e-books in the industry? How are readers consuming content when going to the store to pick up physical copies isn’t always the safest option?
  3. What can librarians look forward to in terms of international releases or works in translation? Can we expect to see more diversity in the industry moving forward?
  4. What are the new releases that you’re most excited for? What trends have you observed?
  5. As video games continue to surge in popularity, should we expect to see more gaming-related titles?

Please email the following information: author, title, publication date, ISBN, page count, price, formats available (print, audio, ebook), and a brief description—catalog copy will suffice—to myself at awebb@mediasourceinc.com and the writer, Ku, at kuoyuliang@gmail.com.

The deadline is January 15, 2021.

Best,
