The Institut Henri Poincaré (IHP) has launched a call for proposals for various scientific programs. This concerns in particular thematic programs to be held during the year 2024. Other programs include Research in Paris, for small groups of researchers, and doctoral training.
Founded in the early 20th century, IHP is ideally located in the heart of Paris, just a few minutes walk from Sorbonne Université, École normale supérieure, and Collège de France.
The Institut Henri Poincaré offers opportunities to hold in its Centre Émile Borel some long scientific programs (12 weeks) as well as short scientific programs (6 weeks), on cutting-edge topics in mathematics, physics, computer science and their interfaces with other topics.
These events are typically organized by an international team of scientists, with logistic and financial support provided by IHP. The aim is to stimulate discussions and to foster collaborations among participants, with the goal of generating new ideas and developing new tools and methods.
Proposals for long scientific programs to be held in 2024 should be submitted via the IHP website preferably by May 15, 2021, for assessment and selection in the subsequent meeting of the Scientific Steering Committee.
The procedure and deadline are the same for Research in Paris applications and doctoral training proposals taking place in the first semester of 2022. Proposals for a short program in the next available slot in 2023 may also be submitted at this stage.
The website provides more information on how to prepare a competitive proposal. Should you need further information or advice, the person in charge of the Centre Émile Borel, Sylvie Lhermitte will be happy to assist you. In this case you are kindly requested to contact her at the email address sylvie.lhermitte@ihp.fr.
