Call your mom... Dear John, I communicate with you as frequently as possible. Well, at least I try to. You're busy so you don't have time to read every email, listen to every podcast, or watch every video. I understand. I just want you to do well and be happy. Sound familiar? That's what your mom says when you call her. Today is a day that was invented by a greeting card company to tap into the guilt we all feel because we don't talk to our mothers frequently enough. They've monetized that emotion. The second Sunday each May we try and buy our mothers off with a card, some flowers and brunch. If you want to avoid this guilt, and possibly improve your relationship with your mom, pick up the phone and call once a week. Hmm...It seems I've heard that before about relationships... Maybe here...Frequency of Communication Builds Trust (Okay, that's one of the 10 habits to help you become a better entrepreneur. But it will work with mom too.) Anyway, today's not a day for business. It's a day to make sure the people who care for you are cared for. So enjoy the day with the moms in your life and do something special - like clean the refrigerator, or replace the roll of toilet paper. It's the least you can do. I hope this email finds you enjoying Mother's Day. Even if you're not a mom, take some time to honor those who "mother" us. Enjoy your day!
