Strategy Plastics expands in Anderson County

Strategy Plastics LLC, a full-service plastic injection molding company, today announced plans to expand to Anderson County. The company will invest more than $3.4 million and expects to create 81 new jobs, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Commerce.

State unemployment rate falls below 3%

The unemployment rate in South Carolina has fallen below 3% for the first time, dropping to 2.9% in September from 3.2% in August. The number of S.C. residents working increased to a record 2,311,479.

Laurens County to receive $5.5M for rural water

Laurens County will receive a $1.7 million loan and a $3.8 million grant to construct a new treatment plant and intake for the county. The USDA grants are designed to spur economic growth and development in rural areas.

Clemson University’s homecoming week activities include the 26th annual Pickens County Habitat for Humanity house building collaboration. The Habitat for Humanity Homecoming Build kicked off Wednesday on Bowman Field.

Powdersville Smiles Dentistry opens

Powdersville Smiles Dentistry, at 3639 Highway 153, has opened for adult and pediatric patients. With clinical leadership from Logan King, the new Greenville County-based dental practice provides patients “modern dentistry with proven technology,” according to a news release. The practice is a part of The Smile Generation referral service.
