Flat out wrong: Can you guess what the flattest U.S. state is?

A common quip that Kansas residents get is “how flat” their state is compared to the rest of the country. But is Kansas really all that featureless? The Sunflower State is covered in sweeping grasslands, which can add to the perception of flatness. But the truth is far stranger: Kansas doesn’t even break the top 5 flattest states at all.

As it turns out, coastal plains near bodies of water actually tend to have smoother elevations overall, which means the flattest American state is really Florida! It figures. Florida was bound to show up in yet another Komando Kicker! The next flattest states are Illinois, North Dakota, Louisiana and Minnesota. West Virginia, surprisingly, is the least flat.
