These New Orleans programs aim to cut gun violence. Do they work?

Gun Violence: New Orleans city officials have a slate of programs designed to prevent gun violence. But City Council members and other critics want results, and have started asking tough questions of Mayor LaToya Cantrell's deputies.


A warty-faced menace? One Metairie neighborhood has a fowl problem. A population of Muscovy ducks has grown into the hundreds, and some residents have had enough of the droppings and general nuisance. Now,  the Pontchartrain Shores Civic Association and Jefferson Parish Council member Jennifer Van Vrancken are looking at a plan that would hire a trapper.


Insurrection arrest: A New Orleans bail bondsman is the first person from the city to be arrested in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection that attempted to overturn the 2020 election, according to recently unsealed documents.  


Kennedy cash haul: U.S. Sen. John Kennedy has a big fundraising lead on his rivals seven months from the 2022 primary election. In fact, it's not even close.
