Our biggest classical music countdown is almost here! |

| The Classic 100 is our most anticipated classical music event. Every year, we ask music lovers to nominate their favourites in a particular category, and then we spend two exciting days counting down the results!
This year's theme is 'Your Favourite Instrument', and music fans across the country have been frantically voting for everything from classics like the cello, jazz icons like the saxophone, to some truly weird and wonderful noise makers, like the hurdy-gurdy. Now, we get to find out which instrument can officially claim the title of Australia's favourite.
You can streamthe countdown live on ABC listen from 9am AEST Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June. Join us for an incredible show with Australian performers and some of your favourite ABC Classic presenters as they celebrate the top 100 instruments and — if we're really lucky — try a few of them out!
Although we won't spoil the countdown for you, we can reveal that the Classic 100: Your Favourite Instrument will feature: - Instruments from every continent (except Antarctica)
- Three instruments that are also other things
- A winner that was voted no. 1 in every state!
Will your favourite instrument make the list? Could the bongos beat out the competition, or will the violin take a bow? Will anyone, anyone at all, vote for the recorder?
