A very unfortunate and sad incident occurred this day 49 years ago. A three-month-old baby boy had suffocated when a pet cat lay on him while he was asleep in his pram. The coroner, Mr Dobson, at the inquest into the death of the baby, late of Mackellar Crescent, Cook, returned a finding of accidental death by suffocation. In a statement, the boy's mother, Mrs Carole Ross, said she had left him in his pram in a bedroom of the house during the morning. READ MORE
