The Countdown Begins

We’re less than three weeks away from the Aspen Ideas Festival and can’t wait for our stages to be filled with curious minds and bold ideas. We’ve continued to add more extraordinary speakers to our lineup, including:

  • Basketball legend Candace Parker will sit down with NBC’s Lester Holt to discuss her legacy, and what’s to come for her and the sport.

  • Dive into NCAA's record-breaking year with University of Connecticut's Geno Auriemma, the forty-year veteran coach of the most successful women’s college basketball team.

  • Legendary producer and Imagine Entertainment co-founder Brian Grazer will take us behind the scenes into the seismic shifts shaking Hollywood and beyond.

  • Former Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Olmert, Jordanian Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar, and former United States Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides will discuss the future of the Middle East with Washington Post columnist David Ignatius.

  • Maryland Governor Wes Moore will discuss leadership during catastrophe with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle.

Ahead of his live taping with actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus at this year’s Aspen Ideas Festival, we caught up with Fragoso to discuss his intensive research process, the ingredients of a good conversation, and how he gets people who have given thousands of interviews to say something new.

20 YEARS OF IDEAS

Confronting History

How can we face and overcome the mistakes of our past? At the 2016 Aspen Ideas Festival, Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative and author of “Just Mercy,” spoke about his organization’s efforts to build a museum examining the legacy of slavery, segregation, and racial violence. Watch Stevenson discuss how America can own up to its history and get more comfortable discussing uncomfortable truths.
