Hi Do

Apples, apples, apples! Who doesn't love apples... or apple pie. :) Apples are versatile and make a great project for beginning canners. They are a higher acid fruit and that makes for some great water bath canning opportunities. Check out canning apples, applesauce, pie filling, dehydrating, freezing, and a video review of the Apple Peeler Corer Slicer. (how's that for a long name for a handy little tool)

Canning and Preserving Apples Articles here.

Have you been thinking about preparedness lately? With all the tragic Hurricanes and Fires in our nation lately it has been on my mind. I've been using freeze dried foods from Thrive. I did some freeze drying my own at home, (more on that here) but Thrive Foods has a monthly delivery service that is extremely convenient.

If preparedness is on your mind, these deliveries are a great way to start stocking up on some food supplies without being overwhelmed. You don't have to purchase thousands of dollars at once. Put what you can afford into your budget and set up a monthly delivery. Before you know it, you'll have a back up. Read more about the Thrive Life option here.

Finally, If you are a beginning canner be sure and take a look at this Canning Basics Online Class. This course will get you going in no time at all! Defeat any fear you may have and start stocking your pantry. Canning Basics Canning Class.

God is good! Have a Great Day.
