Recall math: A month into an attempt to recall New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, organizers said during a news conference at City Hall this morning that they have gathered 20% of the required 53,000 signatures. The update comes as an anti-recall campaign is heating up.
Ian takes aim at Florida: Hurricane Ian has entered the Gulf of Mexico and continues to churn on a course toward the central Florida coast. You can track it here. Ian hit Cuba as a Category 3 storm and is expected to strengthen to Category 4 status as it moves over the Gulf. Landfall could come late Wednesday or early Thursday.
