photo basel 2021: September 21 – 26, 2021 (during Art Basel week) | | |  | | | | | | | | | | Partners since late 2016, the internationally renowned photography award "CAP Prize" are announced annually during photo basel art fair.
With the past few months being a little different, CAP Association joined photo basel in Berlin last September with its eponymous open air show at Tempelhof airport Berlin.
Upholding traditions, photo basel is proud to launch its 4th virtual edition dedicated to the African continent and its diaspora.
Award Winning African Photography - photo basel Takes a Closer Look is an online showcase of contemporary African photography.
The roughly 230 award winning works (by 44 artists) exhibited are sourced from the CAP Prize – the International African Photography Prize, the limited print edition Edition POPCAP, democraSEE (by Photo:), the Uganda Press Photo Award and the East African Photo Award (by FOTEA).
The exhibition not only includes photographic positions but also offers video backgrounds on the exhibited photographers and projects. A custom-tailored program of talks and presentations is offered and to be accessed free of charge.
The selection of works presented in the exhibition Award Winning African Photography, Photo Basel Takes a Closer Look was curated by Benjamin Füglister (CAP Association), John Fleetwood (Photo:) and Anna Kućma (FOTEA).
