FORECAST IN DETAIL

In what seems like a tradition of late, this weekend is going to deliver a lot of sunshine. Temperatures are below normal today, fairly winterlike tonight and then milder tomorrow. Heading into next week seems to provide more in the way tranquil and generally above normal conditions. Winter remains missing, for now.

Today (Saturday): Hope you like sun. Weve got tons of it, and any clouds are few and far between overall. Morning chill gives way very slowly, with high temperatures only heading for the upper 40s to low 50s most spots. Winds are calmer than yesterday, but they may peak around 10 mph with higher gusts during the day. Confidence: High

Tonight: Winds of the day calm significantly with sunset. Add in a dry air mass — its going to be a cold one. The coldest of the season so far. Many suburbs see a fairly hard freeze as temperatures head for the mid-20s in the coldest spots. On the high end, urban centers may be as warm as about the mid-30s. Will the District officially make it? I think at least parts of the city will touch 32. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Sunday): A crisp and bright morning gives way to a near-perfect autumn day. Skies are once again largely cloud free. Temperatures also end up more pleasant than today, as highs rise to within a few degrees of 60. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: This is a benign pattern, so its no surprise we see more mostly clear skies. Thats good news for supermoon fans. We may end up with a few clouds floating by at times, but no real worries when it comes to moon peeping. Temperatures are up a few degrees from tonight, ranging from near 30 to near 40. Confidence: Medium-High

A LOOK AHEAD

Pretty typical November weather persists both Monday and Tuesday. Daytime temperatures may run slightly above normal, somewhere right around 60. Clouds continue to barely sully largely clear skies. Overnight lows are near freezing in the colder suburbs to the low 40s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High
