FORECAST IN DETAIL

With a little soil moisture boost last night, we turn to partly cloudy skies today with near-normal temperatures. Drier conditions persist through the balance of the week and we might even hit 70 on Friday. The weekend looks stormy with a big cold front late Saturday (maybe some snowflakes?) and a brisk Sunday.

Today (Tuesday): Early-morning showers are possible, but then skies turn partly sunny and highs reach 60 degrees. Breezes blow from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, which dries out remnant moisture from last night. Confidence: High

Tonight: Partly cloudy and cold with lows ranging from the middle 30s to middle 40s. Winds are light from the west. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): It’s partly sunny again as temperatures inch warmer. We should get to the lower to middle 60s by afternoon. Light breezes are from the west at around 5 mph. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear and cool with lows ranging from the upper 30s to middle 40s. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

Thursday aims for mostly sunny skies and warmer weather as highs trek toward the middle 60s. Thursday night offers up just a few clouds with lows in the warmer 40s. Confidence: High

Friday is a Nice Day qualifier as highs head for near 70 degrees under sunny skies. Friday night looks partly cloudy and warmer with lows from the middle 40s to low 50s. Confidence: High

The weekend is complicated. Warmth gives way to clouds Saturday with late-day showers. Highs should hit the middle 60s before cooling down. A vigorous cold front comes through Saturday night, which gives us a chance of seeing a few snowflakes (“conversational,” if you will) as lows plummet into the 30s. Sunday skies clear out, but it is much cooler with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Confidence: Medium
