The next chance for any relief to our burgeoning drought is about a week away. The weekend is a mild, dry one abetting travelers, early shoppers and those getting a jump on decorating.

Today (Thanksgiving): Clouds are thick throughout the day but give only a false promise of meaningful rain. The best chance for mainly light showers is in the morning. Winds are very light from the south. Temperatures are seasonable, with highs in the low to mid-50s. Confidence: Medium-High

The return of sun on Saturday is a welcome change. Winds pick up and will be brisk from the northwest, with gusts over 20 mph likely. Highs hold in the lower 50s, making a heavier jacket a good idea.
