FORECAST IN DETAIL

Our first colder-than-normal period of the season lingers a bit longer today and tomorrow. Gradual warming continues through Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Turkey Day may also be a bit of a turkey itself with clouds and showers. Showers and slightly warmer weather hold into Black Friday and maybe Saturday before we manage some sunshine again, especially by Sunday.

Today (Tuesday): Much like yesterday, but just slightly warmer with sunny skies. Pesky winds from the northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts to 20-25 continue to hound us and offer some wind chill, especially in the morning hours. Highs hit the middle to upper 40s with a few spots managing to briefly crest into the low 50s.  Confidence: High

Tonight: Mostly clear and cold with a low temperature range from the middle 20s in the outer suburbs to the middle 30s in the city. Light winds (finally!) from the north and northwest at only 5-10 mph.  Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Mostly sunny in the morning shifting to partly and then mostly cloudy over the course of the afternoon. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s, but it’ll feel warmer without the wind hindrance. Mostly light and variable breezes. Confidence: High

Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy and a bit warmer with lows 35-45 range along with a shot at some showers toward dawn. Confidence: High

A LOOK AHEAD

Thanksgiving Day offers cloudy skies and showers (we need the rain!) at times.  Highs range in the low 50s.  Thursday night should be partly cloudy with a few showers possible again.  Lows range in the middle 30s to middle 40s again.  All rainfall totals should be on the light side.   Confidence: Medium-High

Friday is our best chance to reach 60 as some warmer air arrives under partly sunny skies.  We still run the chance for a few light showers though as highs range from the upper 50s to low 60s.  Friday night has a chance for a few more light showers with lows in the 40s.  Confidence: Medium

The weekend starts on the partly cloudy side with a few light showers on Saturday as highs hit the middle to upper 50s.  Saturday night should be partly cloudy with lows in the middle 30s to low 40s.  Sunday should find our way back to mostly sunny skies with highs in the seasonal to slightly warmer 50s range. Confidence: Low-Medium
