Good Thursday morning! Here's the digest:

1. Gov. Mark Dayton went to Litchfield and Watkins to look at the damage from Monday night's storm. The cost of the damage is not yet known. But Dayton told local officials and residents that they will likely be eligible for state aid. (MPR News)

2. Dayton is planning to meet Friday with House and Senate leaders to resume discussions on a possible special session. Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk said an agreement is near. (WDIO-TV)

3. St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and Police Chief Todd Axtell were in Washington, DC, Wednesday for a meeting with President Obama to discuss community policing. (Pioneer Press)

4. Days before the start of the national convention, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called for party unity behind presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump. (Bloomberg)

5. The speculation will soon end. Christie? Gingrich? Pence? Sessions? Donald Trump says he'll announce his vice president running mate on Friday. (USA Today)
