Feelings of compulsiveness can make you behave reactively today. You may become easily angered or frustrated when life doesn't meet your expectations as old, unconscious patterns emerge in your mind, causing you to become overemotional. You can combat this reactivity by thinking rationally about each new situation you find yourself confronted with. You may discover that your intense emotions are caused by unresolved issues from your past and can be thoughtfully and easily dealt with by using a simple writing meditation. Or you may simply need to approach each bout of strong feelings as a separate event today. Allowing your feelings to come freely into your mind before letting them go may help you concentrate more wholly on facts.

Letting rational thought rather than instinct guide you allows you to make informed, mindful decisions in situations both challenging and emotionally stimulating. In facing difficult circumstances, we may feel entitled to let our initial emotional response drive our reactions. But the rational mind is better equipped to examine facts and more apt to concern itself with hard truths. You won't let your feelings blind you to what is going on around you, nor will you let yourself become unnecessarily reactive. When you think rationally, you will seek to understand the challenges you face and remedy them by looking first to your head and then to your heart for guidance. When you allow your rational mind to be dominant today, you will judge people and circumstances for what they are instead of how they make you feel.
