With the many social and work commitments you have, perhaps you feel that you are too busy and that life is taking you in too many directions. Today might be a good time to give yourself permission to put your health and spiritual well-being before your other responsibilities and practice the art of stillness. Try to find a space that is peaceful, and sit for a few minutes in quiet reflection or meditation. As you start paying attention to your breathing, let your thoughts melt away. With each breath you take, you should feel yourself relax and become more centered. Periodically returning to stillness can help you stay energized throughout the day. Making time for silent contemplation creates space for you to replenish yourself. When you allow yourself to remain still and enter into this space, you give yourself one of life's greatest gifts by nourishing your soul. Silent reflection allows you to become attuned to the needs of your body and spirit.
