You could feel more tolerant of different ways of thinking which could make you much more receptive to listening to new ideas today. This openness may be due to your desire to explore the world around you and to see just how much more depth you can add to your understanding of the way life is. Perhaps today as you encounter other ways of thinking you might try to observe your mind and see how you usually react to things that are somewhat unusual. If you, for example, tend to discount ideas right away, simply make note of that fact, and then gently remind yourself to listen to whatever you hear and reflect on it before you disregard it. Seeing how your mind processes new information in this way could give you greater insight into how well you can accept different ideas.

When we consciously allow new ways of thinking into our lives we will be much more understanding and unbiased about what we hear. While it might seem that we have a great level of open-mindedness, there are times when our minds go on automatic pilot – writing off ideas before we really have the chance to ponder them thoroughly. Once we are aware of how our minds work, however, we can catch ourselves beforehand, in effect opening ourselves up to the notion of being tolerant before we even have a chance to react to new ideas. Becoming mindful of your mind today will make it easier to remain open to other ways of seeing the world.
