Detaching With Compassion | Capricorn Horoscope February 8, 2019 Thinking about family matters may cause you to feel tense today, and this sense of irritability might be due to the fact that it is difficult for you to extricate yourself from certain situations both emotionally and energetically. Learning to detach with compassion may not only make things go much more easily with your loved ones but could also help you feel more at ease when dealing with their issues. One way to lovingly detach is to imagine that you are surrounded by a cocoon filled with light, positive energy and that within this space, nothing negative can affect you. If you can imagine this space as something that shields your heart without closing it off completely today, you might find that it is easier to open up to the needs of those around you without getting frustrated. Keeping our distance in a healthy way allows us to connect with others without negatively affecting our own piece of mind. Those close to us can present us with certain challenges for our closeness often means that we let ourselves give too much, particularly in trying situations. Remaining open but with a certain amount of protection, however, doesn\'t mean that we are closing ourselves off from our loved ones; it means that we are taking care of ourselves so that we can support and encourage the people we care about in a healthier manner. Creating a healing space around yourself today will not only protect you but will also help others find solace and comfort as well. | DailyOM Course Spotlight by Kathy Curtis There is a wealth of evidence that proves that expressing ourselves through writing is healing and transformative. Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry, written in three lines of five, seven, and five syllables--and its secret sauce is the immediacy of it. Life is hectic, and we don't always have 20 - 30 minutes to sit down and record our thoughts. Haiku gets us there much faster, and can be just as powerful. The structure fuels your creativity in ways that journaling doesn't--and with this course, you'll learn the power of three simple lines to provide in-the-moment healing through self-expression. Our thoughts really do make or break us. Writing a haiku helps us find new ways to think about, express and see the challenges we face in being human. It gives us a way to quickly move stress and difficult emotions out of our bodies, and teaches us to listen to ourselves. It inspires us to seek out the things we love about life. And it will bring us a moment of peace, if we'll simply stop and write it into being. Doing something creative with our negative thoughts and feelings is a way to gain understanding, shift our focus, and clear a space for thoughts that will make us feel better. Being proactive in small ways - like writing a haiku - gives us another choice when negativity shows up. This course is delivered in 7 weekly chapters that will help you express the words within you to create a more peaceful and inspired mind. Top 10 DailyOM Courses 1.
