You might be committed to a project today that consumes your time, or you could feel inundated because you feel restricted and unable to do things that feed your spirit. This could be a good time to remember the power that comes from being attuned to your breath. If you at anytime begin to feel tightness in your chest, which is often a sign of strain or anxiety, you can pay attention to your breath. You might notice that you are breathing shallowly, from your chest. Close your eyes and begin to take deep abdominal breaths, allowing the air to fully travel up the length of your spine and reach your shoulders. You may notice that you automatically become calmer and feel more open and energized as a result.

Our breath connects us to the part of ourselves that is soothing and also expansive. Whenever we feel constricted by our responsibilities, our breath holds the key to our becoming more open and aware of our energy level. Once we start breathing deeply, inhaling healing and energizing prana, our minds slow down and we become more relaxed. This feeling of relaxation is actually something that can make our tasks easier as it infuses us with additional energy and liveliness to get through our day. As opposed to feeling drained, we become more alert and responsive to our world around us. Breathing with awareness today will make you more focused and excited about projects that lay ahead.
