Letting Go of Resistance

It can seem today that your efforts in your home and in your workplace are consistently met with resistance. As a result, you may feel wholly ineffectual and begin to question your talents and your dedication. However, it may be your approach to your current situation that is contributing to or causing your immobility. Consider that it may not be within your power to dispel the resistance you encounter. If you accept that assertiveness may not be the answer to your difficulties, you can begin examining alternative methods of achieving your objectives. You may discover that you can once again make progress today by simply letting go of your attachment to your current path and embarking upon an alternate one.

When we cease pushing against the resistance we meet and let go of our need to overcome it in an aggressive manner, we empower ourselves to explore those avenues of action that enable us to circumvent blockages. In accepting that there are some aspects of our experience that we have no power to control, the strong emotional attachment we felt to our circumstances vanishes and is replaced by a ready willingness to employ creative yet gentle solutions to the problems before us. We can thus approach resistance creatively and innovatively, steering clear of those forceful techniques that have not served us well and embracing new methods that rely on intelligence and cleverness. The rut you feel trapped in will vanish today once you realize that resistance can only be conquered by letting go.
