You may notice that you are able to focus on achieving your goals today. Your concentration could be the result of your need to complete everything that you have set out to do. Perhaps you have become frustrated with having loose ends in your life, and you know that the only way to truly reach your personal targets is to be single-minded and resolute in your focus today. This would be a wonderful time to work on limiting the distractions in your life. Before you begin your day, you can look around you and take note of the things that tend to sidetrack you. It might be the phone, Internet, email or conversations. You could also think about your mental distractions such as fantasizing about the future or ruminating on the past. Try to eliminate these distractions. Should they arise, you can remind yourself of your determination to concentrate on what is important for you and bring yourself back to the present moment.

Reducing our distractions, be they physical or mental, allows us to concentrate on the things that have greater significance for us. We can waste so much time doing things that have little meaning in our lives. There are, of course, times when these diversions are pleasurable and perhaps even necessary. But when we have a goal in mind, it is important to create a space where we can concentrate easily in order to maintain our focus. By unplugging yourself from the outside world for a while today, you will find the mental energy to fulfill your goals.
