Your Need To Win | Capricorn Horoscope February 21, 2018 You may find that you are in a competitive mood today. This could mean that if you enjoy sports or games, you could become obsessed with winning. You might even discover that this gung ho spirit could manifest itself in your other activities as well. You may notice that the joy you get from the challenge is overshadowed by your need to win. Perhaps today you can work on developing a greater sense of humility. Should you find that your need to be first arises during the day, you might picture yourself as already having lost. See if this image changes your perception of who you are. If it has, you might want to remind yourself that there is so much more to your identity than success. You could realize that it is the spirit of the challenge and not the outcome that give our lives the most meaning. Learning that winning or success does not define us helps us live our lives more humbly. Our identities can become so wrapped up in the outcome of our actions. We become so involved in our notion of winning that our actions overshadow our true intentions, or we are so competitive that we overlook the needs of others. But when we perceive ourselves as having lost or having nothing, we slowly strip away the parts of our egos that bind us. We engage in activities for the joy they bring and not the kudos. By letting go of your need to win you will earn a deeper prize today--your true self. | DailyOM Course Spotlight by Catherine Ann Jones Our lives may be determined less by past events than by the way we remember them. You are invited to come aboard this inner adventure that offers a step by step journey of discovery and re-visioning through focused journaling. Throughout the eight sessions, you will be engaged in exercises designed to facilitate healing and transformation. Telling stories about our past through focused journaling can help change our perspectives to enable healing and empowerment. In this way, we are able to make meaning out of memory and put the past where it belongs - behind us. Healing and transformation are only possible through changing one's perspective from within. In this way, global healing takes place one individual, one tribe, at a time. What story are you living? How do you choose to remember your story? There is a Native American parable about a grandfather who says, I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one." When asked which wolf will win the fight in his heart, the old man replies, "The one I feed." How do we learn to "feed" the stories that heal?
