Car of the Week: 1960 Ford Country Squire
While nearly every other 1960s teenage boy was dreaming of two-door muscle cars with mag wheels and loud pipes, Tom Murray was ogling cars with more doors and long roofs. The St. Paul, Minn., resident suggests that his early love for station wagons placed him in the uncool set, but in reality, maybe he was just ahead of the curve. "I have always been a Ford station wagon fan," Murray said. "My first car was a 1958 Ford station wagon. I was probably not cool, that is why I like station wagons." Today, that station wagon stigma is gone and Murray is one of the coolest cats at car shows with his 1960 Ford Country Squire, a car he's been drooling over since 1967.

| Gilmore Museum offers a driving experience like no other
Imagine yourself behind the wheel of a car without a gas pedal, fuel gauge, or speedometer. No, it's not the latest version of some self-driving auto or the newest model Tesla electric vehicle-it's a century-old Ford Model T with technology that was common when the Chicago Cubs won their first World Series, the Titanic sank, and the US entered the first World War. At the Gilmore Car Museum, you can secure a seat behind the wheel of an AUTHENTIC Model T Ford built between 1908 and 1927-right out of the Museum's fleet of vintage vehicles-and drive over three miles of paved roads within our historic campus with an experienced and enthusiastic instructor.

Remember that one-of-three 1956 Imperial convertible that we discovered and featured in Old Cars Weekly during 2007? Well, it's now for sale on Craigslist. The owner called us and asked if we knew anyone who would be interested in buying and restoring it. We called a couple folks we knew who would make good stewards, but they were reluctant to put a price on such a rare project.
