Car of the Week: 1971 Plymouth Road Runner

For reasons unknown, Paul Stewart's stellar 1971 Plymouth Road Runner has always been sort of "the car that nobody wanted."
 
Maybe it's the car's checkered past - it was abandoned by both the man who first ordered it and the woman who wound up buying it, and stolen twice from the dealership where it was originally sold. Later, it languished for years as a project car that never got finished until it changed hands several more times.
 
Even after it was completely restored and in shape for the showfield, its owner was still more of a "'Cuda guy" than a "Road Runner guy," and the Plymouth was still a bit of a black sheep.

Car Craft Summer Nationals moving to Bowling Green, Kentucky

The 2017 CAR CRAFT Summer Nationals will take place July 21-23 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. This will be the first year the annual automotive event will be held in Bowling Green.

1972 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X 'Hakosuka' makes the scene at SEMA

ENEOS, a leading OE lubricant supplier for Asian automakers, has teamed up with Ginash George from Chicago on a special restoration project.
 
The story behind George's 1972 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X "Hakosuka" dates back to February 2008 when George visited the Nissan headquarters in Japan. His goal was to see the new Nissan GT-R since the car wouldn't be unveiled in the US until later that year. Although impressed with the latest GT-R, he decided instead to look at its predecessor, the 1972 Nissan Skyline, and fell for its character and soul.

MoPar announced at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas a new restoration parts web resource, www.MoPar.com/restoration. The page will connect enthusiasts with more than 45 approved MoPar restoration parts licensees and more than 9,000 products to assist restorers and enthusiasts.
 
The www.MoPar.com/restoration website was announced at SEMA in concert with the reveal of new MoPar 345 and 392 Crate HEMI Engine Kits to assist in plugging 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter HEMI engines, respectively, into model year 1975 or earlier vehicles.
