This is a time-consuming recipe but definitely a classic. You can apply this concept to any kind of fish; my choice for today are sardines. It pairs great with rice or sticky rice!

This is a delicious syrup that's easy to make. It's meant to be something rather decadent, but can also be a miracle worker to have around when someone's got a cold or flu. I love to use a teaspoon stirred into my hot teas, drizzled on my yogurt, or as a substitute for syrups on my pancakes and waffles.

This is from the Quaker Oats website and had terrific reviews. I need a quick breakfast in the morning. This makes 6-8 portions. It can be eaten warm or cold. Refrigerate if not eaten that day. It reheats well in the microwave. I am sure it can be frozen as well.

Perfect for cooking on the stove, in a crock pot or in a dutch oven over a fire. We love to serve it with hot buttery biscuits or corn bread.
